**Part 2**
Marcus strolled into the penthouse, a smug smirk plastered across his face. Clinging to his arm, laughing at some private joke, was a much younger woman poured into a tight crimson dress. They stopped directly in front of Evelyn’s chair, radiating the arrogant confidence of a pair who believed they had already won.
Marcus adjusted his black silk tie, looking down at his wife of fifteen years. “You were never an owner here, Evelyn,” he sneered, his voice dripping with condescension. “Just an expense. And we’re cutting you out.”
Dismissing her entirely, he turned his back and led the woman in red toward the grand marble fireplace, ready to admire his sprawling, conquered domain.
Evelyn didn’t blink. She slowly stood up, her pristine white suit catching the fading amber light. She looked past her husband to a man in a sharp blue suit standing silently in the teal shadows by the hearth. Her chief financial officer.
“Cancel all his funding,” Evelyn ordered, her voice cold and absolute. “Clear the accounts.”
Marcus froze, mid-stride, his hand hovering over the mantelpiece. He whipped around, his smirk instantly evaporating into sheer panic. The woman in red blinked, her laughter dying in her throat as profound confusion set in.
“What are you doing?” Marcus demanded, the false bravado shattering.
“Taking back my empire,” Evelyn replied smoothly.
By the open double doors behind them, heavy footsteps broke the silence. Two uniformed police officers stepped into the foyer, their badges glinting under the lights.
“You embezzled thirty million dollars from a company that has been solely in my name since yesterday morning,” Evelyn stated, her expression perfectly calm. “You’re not leaving with a cent.” She didn’t break eye contact as she delivered the final blow. “Get them out of my sight.”
