Part 2: An elderly woman walked into Miami’s most luxurious car show

The heavy silence in the showroom was shattered only by the echo of the manager’s desperate plea: *”You own the entire company.”*

Tiffany’s face instantly drained of color, her arrogant sneer collapsing into pure, unadulterated terror. The yellow-badged Ferrari key sat on the pristine white marble floor like a live grenade.

“Mrs. Hayes, I—I didn’t know,” Tiffany stammered, her voice shrinking to a pathetic, trembling whisper. She took a step forward, desperate to salvage her career.

Mrs. Hayes stopped. She didn’t turn around entirely, just cast a freezing, calculating glance over her tailored cream shoulder. “Ignorance is a character flaw, Tiffany, not an excuse,” she replied, her voice smooth as velvet and cold as liquid nitrogen.

She gestured elegantly toward the manager, who was practically hyperventilating in his grey suit. “Marcus, what is my corporate policy on employees claiming inventory as personal property?”

“T-termination, ma’am. Immediate,” Marcus choked out, refusing to make eye contact with the blonde woman.

Tiffany’s knees practically buckled. “Please! I’m your top seller! You need me!”

“I don’t need liabilities,” Mrs. Hayes corrected, finally turning fully to face her. “And since you were so fiercely protective of *’your’* car, I had my security team check the telematic logs during that system lock. You’ve been using dealer plates to joyride our exotics on weekends to boost your social media.”

Tiffany gasped, stepping back as her deepest secret was laid bare before the entire showroom. The crowd murmured in shock.

“That’s grand theft,” Mrs. Hayes noted lightly, adjusting her pearl earring. “I didn’t just suspend operations to fire you. I suspended operations to lock down the perimeter.”

Right on cue, the flashing red and blue lights of Miami-Dade police cruisers reflected through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Mrs. Hayes stepped gracefully over the dropped keys. As she reached the exit, she paused, offering one last, devastating smile.

“Enjoy the ride, Tiffany. I hear the seats in the back of a squad car are strictly vinyl.”
