Part 2: Everyone came to watch Emma Carter lose. The gym was packed

Emma wiped the blood from her lip, her smile sending a sudden, icy chill through the humid gym.

“My grandfather,” she repeated, the breathless exhaustion completely dropping from her voice. “And he isn’t crying because I’m losing, Ryan. He’s crying for you.”

Ryan’s arrogant smirk faltered. The room fell dead silent.

Emma didn’t stagger this time. She stood perfectly straight, the clumsy, desperate fighter from the first five rounds vanishing instantly. In her place stood something mechanical. Lethal.

With a chilling, rhythmic precision, she began to retighten her black hand wraps. One loop. Two. A deliberate, ritualistic lock of the wrists.

At the edge of the mat, her grandfather wiped away his tears. He turned to the stunned spectators beside him, his voice trembling—not with sorrow, but with absolute dread.

“Oh my god,” he whispered, eyes wide. “She’s dropping the handicap. She trained Special Forces.”

Ryan heard it. The color instantly drained from his face. His eyes darted back to Emma as the horrifying secret finally clicked: she hadn’t been struggling at all. She had simply been letting him empty his gas tank.

Emma raised her hands, settling into a flawless, razor-sharp combat stance. Her eyes were flat, cold, and locked dead onto his jaw.

“You should have stopped talking,” she said.

Panicked and running on fumes, Ryan threw a desperate, wild right hook.

He never even saw her move.

Emma slipped the punch with terrifying speed, pivoting into his blind spot. A sickening *crack* echoed through the room as she swept his leg, catching him mid-air with a brutal, lightning-fast strike to his solar plexus before his back even met the mat.

Ryan collapsed, gasping for air, completely paralyzed.

The internet thought they were watching an underdog. They were actually watching a predator play with her food.
